Registration
Please
register by
Friday, May 29 if you plan to attend.
Schedule
Coffee and a light breakfast will be available at 9:30am. Talks
will be begin at 10am. The day will end around 4pm.
Travel
The easiest way to get to Wesleyan is to drive.
-
Note that CT-9 exit 14 is closed for construction.
- Street parking is free and often available on Lawn Ave and Home
Ave behind the Exley Science Tower; you should point map-making
software/devices to the intersection of Home Ave. & Lawn Ave., not 265
Church St., because there is no street parking at 265 Church St. One
side of Home Ave and one side of Brainerd Ave. (two of the likely
streets for parking) will be no-parking because of street cleaning,
and the city tickets religiously.
- You can also feel free to park in any university lot.
There is a small lot behind Exley, but it is often full; there is a
bigger one on Vine Street, just north of Knowles Ave.
-
From the North via 91-S/CT-9S or from the South via CT-9N, take Exit
15/Washington to either:
-
High St. to Lawn Ave. to D Lot or Home Ave. and street parking; or
- Vine St. to V Lot.
-
From the South via 91-N, I'd take Exit 18 to CT-66E to Vine St. to either:
- V Lot; or
- Church St. to Pine St. to Lawn Ave. to D Lot or street parking
By train, the easiest thing is to take Amtrak to the Meriden, CT train
station, and then to take a taxi (around $25 each way, I use Executive
2000 Transportation, (860) 635-8222, call in advance and they will
meet your train). If you are planning to do this, let Dan Licata know
what time your trains arrive/depart, and we can try to share cabs.
Stay
If you plan to stay over, the
Inn at Middletown
is within walking distance of campus.
